🔥 Urgent: Support Our Neighbors Affected by the Recent Fire 🔥

On October 9th, 2025, a fire broke out in town, affecting many local businesses. As neighbors, we have a chance to come together to help those who’ve lost or been displaced.

How You Can Help

  • Donate to the GoFundMe: Dan Vollmer has organized a GoFundMe for the local business owners – you can donate here, it will be shared equally between the businesses in the fire. https://gofund.me/81d11e18e
  • Review the “Caribou Village Business Relief Spreadsheet [CVBRS]“ for GoFundMe/Venmo links, websites, socials, and contact info for all the affected businesses.
  • Spread the word: share the links, tag local businesses, and amplify donation/fundraiser drives.

  • Multiple Dates
    • Very Nice Brewing will be having events at the Gilpin Location. Please check out the events page to see upcoming music, bingo, and other events.
  • Starting October 10th
    • T-shirt benefit for Caribou Village – If you are interested and want to sell some shirts too, reach out to Mountain Goat Tees! 100% of proceeds will go towards Caribou Village.
  • October 18th
    • Knotted Root Brewing will be celebrating Nederland with the release of their Summer Leaves German Helles and cooking beer brats for charity. All of the proceeds from the cookoff in the 5K and a good portion of the proceeds of beer sales for Summer Leaves will be donated to the community and specifically for those impacted by the fire. Contact them directly if you would like to sign up for the 5K. Our community could use your support now more than ever.
  • October 18th
    • Silent Auction & Bake Sale | Time: 3:30pm – 7pm on Sunday | Location: Very Nice Brewing Company: 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk CO 80422
      Hosted by Melissa Kluck. Come out and have a beer – or kombucha – and bid on some incredible items / gift certificates and services donated by 40+ artisans, businesses and bakers! Donors can choose the business of their choice or donate to the go fund me set up to be split between all businesses. Items of $500 or more will be added to the online auction so you can bid in person, or online.
  • October 25th
    • Mental Health First Aid Class | Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. | Location: Hub Ned 80 Big Springs, Nederland
      Strength comes from knowing ourselves, understanding our own weaknesses and recognizing when others are struggling. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, early-intervention course that teaches challenges and interventions for mental health and substance use challenges that our community can learn from and practice as we move forward from the shopping center fire. Lunch and refreshments provided.

    • Nederland Fire Recovery Auction House | A Facebook group where you can post items that you want to donate to be auctioned off to raise funds for the towns recovery. The earrings of your dreams, the perfect holiday gift, and the table centerpiece that ties the room together lie just a scroll away! Message Ben Kappius with any questions, comments or suggestions.
