Lotus and Lion is a landmark international exhibition showcasing the work of 45 visionary contemporary artists from across the globe. Through painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, this powerful collection explores how sacred Buddhist and Hindu iconography continues to inspire, transform, and thrive in the hands of today’s artists.
Drawing from ancient archetypes, the exhibition brings forward vibrant, contemporary expressions of devotion and transcendence. The works offer a profound dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation—inviting viewers into a richly layered visual space where timeless symbols are reimagined with boldness, reverence, and spiritual insight. From meditative and devotional to avant-garde and experimental, the pieces in Lotus and Lion form a dynamic tapestry of global spiritual expression. Together, they reflect the diverse and evolving nature of contemporary spiritual practice—demonstrating the enduring relevance of Buddhist and Hindu paths across generations and cultures.
A highlight of the exhibition is the inclusion of new work by acclaimed artist Karma Phuntsok, known for his radiant reinterpretations of Tibetan Buddhist thangka painting. His work, along with that of both emerging and established artists, embodies the living energy of sacred art as it flows into the present.
